Sakura Punk Attack!

In spring 2005 we visited Japan to see Japanese punk and hardcore bands, drink beer, buy records, make new friends, sell records, get attacked by hawks, and of course see the cherry brossoms (sakura, dummy). Here are some of the photos from our awesome trip posted a year to the day later.

Tokyo At Last

Happy to arrive at Narita we had our bags opened a bit and we were lucky to not get busted for all of the records we were bringing over to sell. I think the officer was kinda freaked out by the Mutant poster he found in the first luggage pocket that he opened. Phew.

We then got out JR passes (tsunami edition) after a bit of a wait and took the train from Narita to Shinjuku to meet up with Daragh. Arriving at the largest train station in Japan (3 million people apparently pass through it on a daily basis) in rush hour with tons of luggage is exhilarating.

We just decided that trying to check things out tonight would be too much effort so we grabbed some take out sushi and beer and then headed to Daragh's to help him reorganize his records in preparation for some serious vinyl shopping that would happen over the next couple weeks.
